1

Add new master’s degree 

1. Department Chair (DC) submits New Degree Summary Proposal to the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) for the Academic Council (AC) agenda.
2. If approved at AC, the DAP alerts the Department Chair (DC) to complete the full-template proposal.
3. DC submits full-template proposal to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
4. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the Graduate Council (GC) two weeks before the GC meeting.
5. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
6. If approved at AC, the DAP shepherds proposal through the remaining approval process.
7. If approved through the approval process, the DAP alerts the DC & Advisors.
8. The Catalog Administrator adds the new degree or certificate to the catalog & DegreeWorks.
9. DC verifies degree or certificate is correct in catalog & Degreeworks.

Add new bachelor’s degree 

1. Department Chair (DC) submits New Degree Summary Proposal to the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) for the Academic Council (AC) agenda.
2. If approved at AC, the DAP alerts the Department Chair (DC) to complete the full-template proposal.
3. DC submits full-template proposal to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
4. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
5. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
6. If approved at AC, the DAP shepherds proposal through the remaining approval process.
7. If approved through the approval process, the DAP alerts the DC & Advisors.
8. The Catalog Administrator adds the new degree or certificate to the catalog & DegreeWorks.
9. DC verifies degree or certificate is correct in catalog & Degreeworks.

Add new emphasis, minor, or certificate.

1. Department Chair (DC) completes & submits abbreviated template to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
2. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
3. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
4. If approved at AC, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) shepherds proposal through the remaining approval process.
5. If approved through the approval process, the DAP alerts the DC & Advisors.
6. The Catalog Administrator adds the new emphasis, minor, or certificate to the catalog & DegreeWorks.
7. DC verifies new emphasis, minor, or certificate is correct in catalog & Degreeworks.

Change program > 30%

Note: Changes to program cannot be advertised until the next catalog year so as to not disrupt graduation system.
1. Department Chair (DC) completes & submits abbreviated template to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
2. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
3. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
4. If approved at AC, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) shepherds proposal through the remaining approval process.
5. If approved through the approval process, the DAP alerts the DC & Advisors.
6. At the new catalog year, the Catalog Administrator adds the program change to the catalog & DegreeWorks.
7. DC verifies the program change is in the catalog & Degreeworks.

Change program by < 30%

Note: With exception of adding electives to the “buffet list”, changes cannot be advertised until the next catalog year so as to not disrupt graduation system.
1. Department Chair (DC) submits proposal in an email memo to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
2. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
3. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
4. If approved at AC, (adding electives to the “buffet list” can be added immediately), the Catalog Administrator (CA) queues the program changes until the next catalog year.
5. CA makes the program changes in the catalog and DegreeWorks
6. DC verifies new emphasis, minor, or certificate is correct in catalog & Degreeworks.

Inactivate or reactivate program

1. Department Chair (DC) completes & submits abbreviated template to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
2. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
3. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
4. If approved at AC, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) shepherds proposal through the remaining approval process.
5. If approved through the approval process the Catalog Administrator (CA) queues the program change until the program “teach out” is complete.
6. The CA then adds or removes language to the catalog stating the program is suspended until further notice or reactivated.
7. DC verifies the program has been inactivated or reactivated in catalog & Degreeworks.

Discontinue program

1. Department Chair (DC) completes & submits abbreviated template to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
2. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
3. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
4. If approved at AC, the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) shepherds proposal through the remaining approval process.
5. If approved through the approval process the Catalog Administrator (CA) queues the program change until the program “teach out” is complete.
6. The CA then removes the program from the catalog & Degreeworks.
7. DC verifies the program has been discontinued in catalog & Degreeworks.

Change program admission requirements

Note: It is strongly recommended that the Department Chair (DC) compare program admission requirements to other program requirements in their College.
1. Department Chair (DC) submits proposal in an email memo to the College Admin (CA) for the College Curriculum Committee (CCC) agenda.
2. If approved at the CCC, the CA submits proposal to the University Curriculum Committee (UCC) Secretary two weeks before the UCC meeting.
3. If approved at the UCC, the UCC Secretary submits proposal to the Academic Council (AC) Secretary to be included on the AC agenda.
4. If approved at AC,  the Catalog Administrator (CA) queues the program changes until the next catalog year.
5. CA makes the program changes in the catalog and DegreeWorks
6. DC verifies program admission requirements are correct in catalog & Degreeworks.
